Praise God for all He is doing through CAYA Ministries! As many of you are becoming involved in the ministry we are able to accomplish so much more of what God is calling us to do for the needy and less fortunate in our community. This is a list of our volunteer opportunities over the next few months. Please pray for us that we would continue to follow God’s leading and that we would continue to be a blessing to the community.
CAYA Work Days -----------
We are planning 2 work days for this Saturday the 24th and next Saturday the 31st. We will be picking up and delivering furniture to families in need and placing what is left in storage for our next outreach event . If you have a truck and are able to help move large furniture items, please let me know which day you are available and I will let you know when and where to meet. If you have furniture you would like to donate, please let me know so we can coordinate pick-up. We are also in need of household items such as towels, sheets, blankets, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc. If you have these items to donate you can bring them by our office and drop them off anytime or you can bring them to the church labeled CAYA and we will pick them up there. Just let me know you are dropping them off so we can be sure to get them.
We will also be using these 2 work days to clean and set up our office space and deliver bread and pastries. We will be meeting at the office at 10am and will need help cleaning, sorting clothes, moving furniture, organizing and getting each room set-up. Many helping hands are needed!
Saturday Food Delivery ------------
Every Saturday morning we meet at 10am at the office to deliver food to one of our target communities. Please consider coming by to serve the people of our community with us. You don’t have to sign up, just come on a Saturday when you have the time to help. Journey groups are welcome to come and serve together. You may want to get together with your group and decide on one Saturday a month that you can come and deliver with us.
On-Call List -------------
We are finally ready to begin this area of our ministry! We deliver food during the week to families that call us in need of emergency food assistance and people are needed to help us make these deliveries. If you sign up for this, we will get you several bags of groceries to have on hand at your home. We will call you when there is a need in your area and give you the contact information and directions to the home you will be delivering to. If you are not able to deliver at the time we call you, we will call the next person on the list.
Help in the Office -------------
Our office will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-4. Volunteers are needed to answer phone calls and help with data entry into the computer. We are also looking for people interested in counseling and mentoring families and help with tutoring children in our afterschool program.
